Mock Arteries FAQs
1. Does Dynatek supply mock arteries?
Yes, Dynatek manufactures silicone and latex mock arteries.
2. What is the difference between the silicone and latex mock arteries?
Silicone mock arteries are clear for optical clarity, ideal for demonstrations or training with complex interventional devices. Silicone has a proven longer fatigue life. Ongoing research at Dynatek on these silicone mock arteries shows their ability to maintain original mechanical properties within specification for at least 400 million cycles. Dynatek has found that the properties of latex tubes, although changing slowly with time and loading, maintain properties that are within a proper range for 100 million cycles under common testing conditions. At 100 million cycles, Dynatek normally recommends changing the latex tubing. Though our latex mock arteries do have a shorter fatigue life, their lower cost may meet your testing needs.
3. What size mock arteries are available?
Dynatek can manufacture sizes from 1.5mm ID to 52mm ID. Dynatek can also create mock arteries in non-standard sizes or shapes such as bifurcations or aneurysms to meet your special needs.
4. What are the standard maximum lengths?
The maximum length per sample for latex is 55cm and 30cm for silicone. However, customization is available.
5. How are your mock arteries characterized?
Mock arteries can be specified by inner diameter (ID), wall thickness or compliance.
6. What compliances are available?
Dynatek's standard compliance is 5-7%, but other compliances are available upon request.
7. Are other shapes besides simple tubes available?
Yes, we make bifurcations, arteries with aneurysms, aortic arches, and many other shapes. Organic models can be produced from an in vivo diagnostic image.
8. Does Dynatek provide a certificate of properties? What is included in this certification?
Yes, Dynatek provides a certificate of properties. It certifies the % radial compliance at specific pressures, frequencies and temperatures.
9. What is the advantage of using your mock arteries versus purchasing the desired latex or silicone tubing from a vendor?
Dynatek certifies % radial compliance of the mock arteries. The compliance of our silicone mock arteries is exceptionally stable; compliance decreased less than 1% during 400 million cycle tests. We custom dip our mock arteries, which allows for flexibility in size and wall thickness.
10. What is Dynatek's return policy?
Due to the delicate nature of these products, no returns will be accepted.
